Recently, Luohu Customs found a passenger hiding 1.142 million Hong Kong dollars on his body, attempting to enter Hong Kong.
According to the General Administration of Customs, when Luohu Customs officers were supervising passengers leaving the mainland, they found a female passenger who entered the customs supervision area without declaring to the customs, and her expression was abnormal, so they immediately stepped forward to intercept and inspect.
After inspection, customs officers found a large amount of undeclared Hong Kong dollars placed in the abdominal pants (body-shaping pants) and fixed with elastic bands on the waist and abdomen of the passenger.
Customs reminded that according to relevant regulations, the limit for carrying Hong Kong dollars for the first time out of the country within 15 days is the equivalent of US$5,000 (equivalent to about HK$39,000), and customs will not release if the amount exceeds the limit. If you really need to carry a large amount of cash that exceeds the limit, you should apply for a permit to carry foreign exchange out of the country from the foreign exchange management department or bank in advance.
